Sunset Middle School offers many opportunities for students to engage in athletics.
Required Forms
Participation in the 23-24 Intramural season requires completing the online forms and paying the registration fee through RevTrack.
Girls Volleyball
All girls 6th-8th can play. No prior playing skills needed! Everyone participates in equal amounts. We are trying to develop skills and introduce the girls to the game of volleyball. Competition is at a minimum and introduction to the sport is the main focus. We play Sunset games that are made up of equally balanced teams from our school that consist of girls at different grade levels and ability as much as possible. We will also have a travel team that consists of 24 girls that will be mostly 8th graders and will be filled in by 7th graders if we don’t have 24 8th graders. This team will play 5 games mostly Mondays and one Saturday tournament.

Soccer
The Sunset Soccer Club is run in partnership with the city of Longmont. The team is co-ed and is for 6th & 8th graders. There are three practices a week with one game a week. Soccer has a fall and spring season. For registration please contact City of Longmont – Recreational Services.

Track and Field
Registration for Co-Ed Track & Field opens on February 26 – March 8. Season dates March 11 – April 25, 2024
Practice: Starting on March 11th right after school 2:35-4:00.
Meets are on the following days:

April 19th 6th grade only
April 22,
April 25th 7/8 grades only
You must wear tennis shoes.
